Lady Barbary...
Barbary Jay Roberts or Barbary the Sailor, as I was known;
came of age at 15 when I left my home and disguised myself, to sign on as part of the crew of a schooner soon to leave port.
Though I knew little of sailing, I was a quick study and often took my watch at the helm. Through daring maneuvers and quick
dagger I worked my way to Crew Chief and then Bosun.
One day while ashore, I found myself entranced by the sound of a mandolin and penny whistle. I followed the sound to the
source, and discovered the Whistlin' Oysters - an Irish Pub Band; I soon became a patron and would seldom miss a
performance. It was a dark and stormy night, while attending a performance, I met up with the crew of the Black Diamond. It
was my dancing that saved my milky throat from being slashed as everyone not a pirate fled the Pub. So amused by my
disregard of their presence as I danced and sang were the "Black Diamond Pirates", that they allowed me to join them
so that I might continue to entertain them with my songs and graceful dancing.
Now renamed "Lady Barbary", I have come to appreciate and admire the crew of the" Black Diamond", calling them mates.
I have actually caught the attention of "Foo Ling Yu... Chinnegan" and have since become his Pearl.
